Medical Student for a Day
'A Medical Student For the Day' is a programme which has been developed by the Medical Education department and as part of a Masters Research project of one of the NHS Lanarkshire Clinical Teaching Fellows, Dr Gemma McGrory. This programme has been designed to offer S6 pupils further experience to supplement their medical school applications or interviews, by providing a one-day opportunity to experience life as a first year medical student.
The programme of activities for the day will include a first year university equivalent lecture (where the pupils will have the opportunity to practice taking notes), small group work in the form of Problem Based Learning (PBL), a small group tutorial and the opportunity to learn relevant clinical examination skills.
The day will be held at our Medical Education Training Centre on Monday 4th September and run from 9am to 4pm and lunch will be provided.
Forms available from Miss Strachan.
