Emma 2013 nathan-low2 SSAA Pamela SSAA Emily SSAA Kristen

Carluke High School was well represented at Scottish Schools Athletic Championships in June.
Kirsten Cowe kicked of the weekend events with a powerful throw in the U17 hammer, achieving a new PB of 36.44m and winning the bronze medal.
Emily McNicol then went on to win the Scottish Schools Championship title in the U15 high jump with a new personal best leap of 1.57m.
Pamela McNicol won double silver in the U17 80m hurldes and 300m hurdles, with a new PB time of 45.38sec in the 300m hurdles.
Stewart Taylor Peacock made it to the U14 boys 100m semi final, running in a new PB of 13.04s. James Gillon knocked 15 seconds off his previous best time in the U14 1500m and Mirran Struthers matched her PB in the U14 long jump and PBd in the 100m. Adam Kelly ran well in the U14 1500m and 800m.
To cap the end of a fab weekend for CHS, Emily was then awarded the Scottish Schools High Jump trophy for the best performing female.

SCILT, in partnership with Routes into Languages and the European Commission, organised the first national modern languages 'Spelling Bee' Competition final in Scotland at the Scottish Parliament on Friday 31st May. In the spirit of '1+2', S1 pupils from 16 schools demonstrated their skills in French, German and Spanish to an audience of proud teachers, parents, fellow pupils and invited guests. We are delighted to announce that Amy Spence 2B1 won this competition and received a cup, and Jack Anderson 2H came third. Congratulations and well done.

Alex Marshall 2D has recently won the Scottish Championship in Tae-Kwondo. She has been involved in Tae-kwondo for about 8 years and is currently a black belt. Well done Alex.

Craig Frame ( 2D ) won a silver plate for 3rd place overall in the Scottish Open ( Juniors ) racing Autograss cars.

Pamela Mc Nicol (4D2) won the Scottish Schools Pentathlon Championships ( 15-17 yrs ) at Grangemouth yesterday achieving a personal best in the hurdles, long jump and shot putt. She scored her highest ever score of 3205 points.

Emily Mc Nicol ( 3D ) was 5th in Group C, under 15 girls, with personal bests in the long jump, shot putt, 800m, hurdles and overall pentathlon score of 2480 points.

Katie Mc Intyre 3D competed at the Scottish National Championships recently at the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh and won silver in the 200m Breast stroke and a bronze in the 100m Medley relay.
She also won silver in the West of Scotland District Championship at East Kilbride recently.
