School Report Day 26 March 2009

Firefighter Dresses as Spiderman to Help Save Young Autistic Boy

Fire fighter Somchai Yoosabai was called to a school in Bangkok after an 11 year old autistic boy climbed out of the window in his new school.

It was the child's first day at the special needs school in Bangkok, Thailand and Somchai said that when he arrived on the scene, the child was terrified and screaming for his mum.

Teachers and the mother of the young boy all tried to coax him into coming down from the third floor balcony, but they all failed to convince him.

Police said that teachers had alerted the fire station after the boy began crying and climbed out of the classroom window.

After overhearing the child's parents discussing his love for comics, the canny fireman dressed as spider man to coax the young autistic boy to come to him.
