Music Department - Intermediate Two

Intermediate 2 Coursework

  • Pupils learn two instruments of their choice and aim to perform at Grade 3 standard
  • They must compose a piece of music lasting a minimum of 1minute 30 secs
  • Listening course includes units such as Scottish Music, Instruments of the Orchestra, Musical Form, 20th Century Contemporary Music, World Music and Vocal Music.

Pupils are required to sit one formal listening exam at the end of their 4th year for Intermediate 1 and 2.

Practical exams can take place anytime during the months of February and March.

Composition is not graded but must be passed to enable the student  to complete the course.
