Welcome to our new Library at Carluke High School.
The Library is situated on the 1st floor of Wing A and overlooks the front entrance to the school with easy access to a lift.
It is housed in a large airy space with ample shelving, seating areas for comfort and for study, an IT area, an issue desk, display areas and a careers interview room.
We have an up to date stock of resources, including books, magazines, videos, audio cassettes and CDs, posters and maps.
The library is managed by Mrs Martin, who is a chartered librarian, with twenty four years of experience in running a school library.
The School Library provides all pupils with access to information and helps them to develop learning skills in a supportive environment.
The Library:
• Plays a central role in learning and teaching
• Helps meets the needs of all learners
• Empowers young people and encourages them to develop into lifelong learners.
The library contributes in many varied ways to the school's main aim of creating confident individuals, responsible citizens, successful learners and effective contributors.
