Commonwealth Games baton to come through Clydesdale

The Commonwealth Games baton will be getting carried through Lanark , Carluke and Law on the 22nd of June which is a Sunday. As part of The Queen's Baton Relay.

BBC School Report

On the 27th March thousands of pupils will become junior reporters for a day. My school, Carluke High is one of the many schools involved. The project lets 11-16 year olds become news reporters and search for fascinating reports.

Easter Holidays

On the 4th of April it is going to be Easter and we go on holiday for two weeks. Easter means a lot of different things to different people to us it means fun!

Changes to Carluke High School

Carluke High School is changing a lot with the new Head Teacher and new uniform for the upcoming year.

The Head of Carluke High, Mr Smith, is changing the uniform for pupils to make them look smart and sophisticated.

McCall outraged at Hibernians decision to ban the Motherwell fans' drum from Easter road for last Saturdays match and any future matches

Motherwell Manager Stuart McCall was outraged when he heard of the ban, in an interview for Motherwellfc.co.uk he said "Surely anything that creates atmosphere should be encouraged, it's a
football match, not a church service. I find it a strange decision and disappointing. I've been to a few Hibs games and they have got a drum. So unless he's lost his drum and it's not fair that we've got a drum, I think it's strange."

From 24th of February to the 9th of March 2014 fair-trade fortnight is taking place. 2014 fair-trade is all about bananas, they are the most popular fruit in the world and 2 years ago we spent over £550 million on bananas.

Forth's new primary school will be ready for April 2014! Morgan Sindall has been planning the school since 2012 and started building in 2013.The school includes 8 classrooms, a nursery, gym hall, dining hall, a library and ICT zones.

Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo have revealed the gender of the UK's first baby koala.

Even though the little koala was born last September the male has spent most of his time in his mothers pouch or clinging to his mother's belly so the zoo keepers have only just been able to examine him.

Surgeons in Oxford have used a gene therapy method.

To improve the vision of six patients who otherwise would have gone blind.

The process involved inserting a gene into the eye, an action that re-energized light-detecting cells.

The doctors that were involved believe that the treatment could in time be used to treat common forms of blindness.

Public angry because bus from Law village to Wishaw has stopped!

The hourly bus from Law village to Wishaw has stopped, making the public angry with everyone from local politicians to local people who voiced their opinions in the Carluke Gazette.

Jessica Ennis-Hill will miss 2014 Commonwealth Games as she is expecting her first baby with her husband Andy but she will still be going to the Olympics in Rio 2016.

"I am sorry I won't be in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games," she said.

Our names are Erin and Fiona and we are here to talk to you about raising awareness of anti-bullying week. This event runs from the 18th-22nd November. We asked our 5th year buddies some questions about what they thought of bullying!
