Magic Breakfast
Carluke High School has paired up with Magic Breakfast as we believe no child should ever be too hungry to learn.
Magic Breakfast is a charity that supports schools in England and Scotland, and works with local authorities to feed children and help end child morning hunger for good.
They state, “Not only does our work alleviate hunger, through research, we’ve shown that eating breakfast is a vital part of improving learning, school attendance, health and wellbeing for children and young people.”
Having breakfast at school makes a big impact across a child’s education. It’s not just a great start to the day. For pupils experiencing socio-economic disadvantage it has been continuously proven to positively impact educational attainment, concentration, focus and behaviour of all pupils in the classroom.
At Carluke High School we offer a breakfast club provision in a number of areas from 8am until 8.35am.
- the PE Open Area, the Hub
- Library, the Nurture Base, the Learning Hub
We hope to see pupils utilising this safe, warm space in the mornings.
