The history of Kirkton House
Kirkton of Carluke was a mansion house, which was demolished in the mid 20th century. It was a three storey tower house, the older section had a projecting tower with a narrow turnpike stair. There was a vaulted basement and the hall was on the first floor. It belonged to Weir of Stonebyres but passed in 1662 to the Lockharts of Lee.
