A PI Day miracle
Pi Day Competition: A Celebration of Mathematical Excellence!
This year's Pi Day competition at our school was a grand success, filled with excitement, creativity, and mathematical prowess. Held on March 14th, the event brought together students from various levels to celebrate the fascinating world of mathematics and the infinite beauty of the number π (Pi).
Participants demonstrated their mathematical skills in the main event: the Pi recitation contest, where students amazed everyone by recalling Pi to an astounding number of decimal places. It was a thrilling competition to see who could recite the most digits of Pi, showcasing remarkable memory and dedication.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding performances. Special recognition goes to our top winners:
- Senior school: Marriam Iqbal, 6B2– 960 digits
- Junior School: Amy Thomas, 2B – 236 digits
- Primary School: Joshua Fraser Aston – 118 digits

A big thank you to Mrs. Tarbard for planning and running the event, and to the volunteers who helped. Your efforts made this Pi Day a memorable and educational experience for everyone involved.
And let’s not forget the delicious pies that were enjoyed by all the pupils who participated, adding a tasty twist to the celebration! With the never-ending digits of Pi and an unlimited supply of pies, the fun never stops!
