Earth Quake Resistant Building Design Competition

The students of 2H were challenged with creating an earthquake resistant building. Using the knowledge they have learned in their geography lessons, they had to apply what they knew to the buildings they designed. Were they up for this challenge? They absolutely were! We had brilliant designs which demonstrated their goal of reducing as much damage as possible in order to keep their buildings standing. Various methods were implemented such as cross-bracing, early detection systems and the use of strong foundations (this last one was utilised by every student!)

The posters were judged by our two deputes Mrs Duffus and Mr McCallum who decided that 3 members of 2H demonstrated our success criteria brilliantly. These were:

1st Place: Campbell Stevenson
2nd Place: Luciá Mowat
3rd Place: Gordon Norrie
