History entry recommendations:

 

For National 5 history – should be doing National 5 geography, modern studies, English, psychology or RE or any combination of at least 1 of these subjects.

 

For Higher history – should have National 5 modern studies, English, psychology or RE or any combination of at least 1 of these subjects.

An evaluation of the reasons for changing attitudes towards immigration in the 1920s

An evaluation of the reasons why the Nazis achieved power in 1933

History assessments:

 

National 5 exam:

 

Throughout the year, pupils will complete timed exam style questions in class, mid unit assessments and end of unit assessments to ensure they make sufficient progress towards attaining their full potential.

 

Pupils will complete a 2 hour 20 minutes exam worth 80 marks at the end of their 4th year in secondary school.

 

Higher history exam:

 

Pupils will complete a 3 hour exam split between 2 papers at the end of their 5th or 6th year in secondary school.

Pupils will complete a 1 hour 30 minute exam, writing 2 essays worth 44 marks in their first paper.

After a small interval, pupils will then complete a 1 hour 30 minute exam, completing source questions worth 36 marks in their second paper.
